The theme of this Q&A Panel is "Tools to Elevate your Business." Professionals chosen have a unique tool or set of skills that have transformed their business or that you could easily add to your practice.
Meet MarLeice Hyde, founder of Erasing Pain,
During the Q&A panel, she’ll answer questions on how microcurrent therapy is a tool that can elevate your bodywork practice.
With over 30 years of experience in healthcare—ranging from conventional medicine to holistic healing—MarLeice specializes in bridging the gap between Eastern and Western approaches to pain relief. Marleice developed the 5 Pillars of Erasing Pain framework and teaches how microcurrent therapy can accelerate healing, reduce inflammation, and support long-term client wellness. She’ll be demonstrating the devices and offering them for purchase, along with practical guidance on how to integrate them into your sessions with confidence and intention.
What is microcurrent therapy?
Microcurrent therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses extremely low levels of electrical current—so gentle it mimics the body’s own natural bioelectricity—to stimulate healing, reduce pain, and support tissue repair. Conveniently delivered by a small hand-held device with various attachments, these currents feel like a gentle tingle or spreading warmth as they work their magic.
Just as massage manipulates soft tissue to improve circulation and nervous system function, microcurrent delivers subtle electrical signals to the body that enhance cellular communication and energy production—especially ATP (the energy currency of cells). This boosts the body's ability to heal from the inside out.
Accelerates tissue repair (great for injuries, sprains, post-surgical recovery)
Reduces inflammation and pain
Re-educates muscles (especially helpful in facial work or postural imbalances)
Improves circulation and lymphatic flow
Softens scar tissue and adhesions
It complements hands-on work beautifully.
It gives you a high-tech tool that respects the body’s natural rhythms.
It allows for deep therapeutic change—without deep pressure.
You can integrate it into sessions or offer it as a standalone modality.
Meet Derek Pond, DPT, Owner of Elite Physical Therapy and Wellness, Motivational Speaker
Derek Pond is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, massage therapist, business owner, educator, and someone who knows what it takes to build something from the ground up. He started his journey in bodywork back in 2009 as a massage therapist and has been on a mission to help people heal ever since.
Fresh out of massage school, Derek opened his first business — Elite Massage and Bodywork. That leap of faith sparked what would become a career defined by entrepreneurship and deep, intentional client care. In 2015, he leveled up again by founding Elite Physical Therapy and Wellness, where he now serves as owner and lead therapist. He also owned and ran CSC Physical Therapy for a decade.
Derek holds a doctorate from Western University of Health Sciences and a bachelor’s from Utah Valley University, with a background in biology, exercise science, and community health education. He’s trained extensively in advanced manual therapy and has taught at multiple schools including Western University, Provo College, and Cortiva Institute. He’s also fluent in American Sign Language (ASL), expanding access and connection in his practice.
Known for his motivational speaking on the power of pain as a path to strength, Derek blends science, soul, and strategy in everything he does. He’s passionate about helping practitioners use their own experiences to fuel their healing work and grow businesses that last.
What sets Derek apart is his heart for service and strategy. He’s been in the trenches, grown through trial and error, and continues to evolve his work to serve both clients and practitioners. Now, he’s working to get approved to teach CEUs so he can pass on what he’s learned to other professionals ready to rise.
At Flow + Flourish, Derek will be sharing the real talk on what it takes to grow a practice that lasts — from mindset and marketing to the systems that actually support sustainability. Get ready for grounded wisdom from someone who's walked the path.
